Frozen

There's a moment in your life
that creeps up on you
It stuns you to inaction
Stops you from moving on.
And you're right there standing frozen,
Waiting for forever,
for something or somebody,
Who'd drag you from the spot.
Anything to move you
away from the impressions
Of what that moment did to you
in the past...

You feel the wind in your face
You feel the world moving on
You see trees changing color,
And moments become a song.
Everything in the outer world
Changes, even you...
But on the inside, you're right there,
Haven't moved an inch ahead,
'Coz you're frozen by a moment,
Something or somebody,
Waiting to pull out of it
Waiting for forever.

Untitled 2

Bounce, bounce
I bounce away
In my empty space,
One wall to another,
This floor to the next,
An orb of molten metal
And nothing contains me.
The hot metal blood
In my vascular self
Oozes out
From the minuscule holes
Of my roundness,
and becomes brittle glass.
Bounce, bounce
I bounce away
And back in
the shards pierce
Through my penetrable hide
For where else
in that empty space
do we go?
Except
Bounce, bounce
One wall to another,
This door to the next,
One sick encapsulating thought
To another pain evoking memory,
A broken trust,
an unresolved fear.
None to blot the molten pain
None to sweep the shards.
Nothing to heal me,
Nothing to ease me,
Nothing contains me
Only to leave me,
Bounce away,
in my empty space.

A Journey from Waiting to Death

On the curving path
Head bowed down, gray
Measuring his footsteps, weak
He sees his sons
Climbing trees... chasing squirrels
And his daughters
Garlanding... Dancing... on the breeze
Crowns on their heads
Wands in their hands
And with this divine vision
Part of dust he becomes...

Dressed to the nines
Standing in the window
She is looking out for the glow
that will light up her life
Every approaching light
Makes the lake shimmer
It seems her own, her own kin
But approaches and passes by, it does
Soon the glass hurdle before her
turns to nothingness, and
The lake shimmers with her reflection
Deep inside of it...

The sky is frolicking
Playing games with him,
Darkening up a few steps ahead
And then lightening back down
The thirst of his green
and his brawn
Ascends and descends
But nothing relinquishes
Until the sky weeps
endless tears of blessing, and
He's flowing with the waters...

Her five innocent years
Shine in her eyes
The smile gradually edges
On her helpless, afflicted self
As she eyes the golden wrap
in the hands of another child
She waits for her archangel
His promise of happiness
And her very own gold
Her eyes move to the distant road
And part of dust she becomes...

Rotten Empire

The cold white walls
Like a cinema screen
Images flicker on
And I'm the Queen.

Lambs rush about
As the King falls down
Rubies on their foreheads
...and there goes the crown!

The snakes slither on
Upon my forgotten Empire
As pure as gold
After the hibernation fire.

The dogs mate horses
And cows have foals
Spring is ripening
My Empire grows...

Darkness wans
As "tom-thumbs" charmed
Play tug-of-war
To amuse the Queen.

The high moth-eaten walls
The rich rotten food
The flourishing times
Magnificently screwed.

The brown lake shimmers
Outside the royal slums
The sun shines brightly
And the Queen jumps.

A House With No Door

I see a house in the busy street
A house with no door
Its a structure erected majestically
But the walls are full of holes.
The rabbits hop around
Afraid to wander near
The voices that surround
Panicky and full of fear.
The foxes peep from behind the bushes
Aiming to find a way in
Their nostrils, in hopes, flare greedily
Licking the smells from the kitchen.
The sparrow on the nearby tree
Wails in deep lament
At the lifeless body of her lover
Under the living room fan.
The dark alley of the house across
Hides a trickster monkey
Brushing his hairy hide
An evil grin on his face
Plotting to steal so much more
Underneath the mask of affection.
The walls can't make them stop
It's the holes they're aiming for
It's the house in the busy street
A house... with no door.

On A Day Like This

Sacrifices are vain
Joys refrain
And strong is the pain
On a day like this...

The smiles seem fake
The odds are at stake
The promises a-break
On a day like this...

Friends seem afar
Remembrances marred
And dark is the hour
On a day like this...

Morality seems tainted
The faces seem painted
And all hope just fainted
On a day like this...

Peace! my perturbed spirit...
And calm your pulsing anxiety,
The reasons lay hidden
In the unfathomable vaults,
Veiled from the prying curious eyes,
Of the intelligent human mind...

In darkness you pursue
Your eternal flight,
In oblivion you follow
The shadows of life,
And you shall reach your resting place,
Peace! for all happens for the best...
