Bounce, bounce
I bounce away
In my empty space,
One wall to another,
This floor to the next,
An orb of molten metal
And nothing contains me.
The hot metal blood
In my vascular self
Oozes out
From the minuscule holes
Of my roundness,
and becomes brittle glass.
Bounce, bounce
I bounce away
And back in
the shards pierce
Through my penetrable hide
For where else
in that empty space
do we go?
Except
Bounce, bounce
One wall to another,
This door to the next,
One sick encapsulating thought
To another pain evoking memory,
A broken trust,
an unresolved fear.
None to blot the molten pain
None to sweep the shards.
Nothing to heal me,
Nothing to ease me,
Nothing contains me
Only to leave me,
Bounce away,
in my empty space.
